The centre's Ballroom is the largest space in the centre and its majestic curved design and panoramic views of Hawke's Bay make it the perfect setting for any occasion. It has a floor area of 498m2, a ceiling height of 4.5m and can take up to 450* guests configured as a theatre, classroom, *cocktail (standing event with refreshments), dinner and dance or banquet space.
The Boardroom is an intimate, functional space and can accommodate up to 12 people around a boardroom style table for a meeting or private lunch, or up to 25 for a presentation or seminar with a theatre style seating arrangement. The Boardroom is perfect for interviews, video conferencing or as a meeting room for a committee during a conference upstairs.
Breakout Room One is the smaller of the two breakout rooms on the lower level. It's suitable for presentations, meetings, training sessions, seminars, workshops or social occasions. Its footprint is 96m2 and it can take 30 seated or up to 50 as a theatre or standing event.
Breakout Room Two is the larger of the two breakout rooms on the lower level. It's suitable for seminars, presentations, meetings, training sessions, seminars, workshops or social occasions. Its footprint is 155m2 and it can take 60 seated, 100 as a theatre or 80 standing at a cocktail event. Its unique size and shape offers flexibility as it can be arranged differently for each individual event. It also has double doors, which open to reveal a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean.
The Gallery is a long, window-lined room, connecting the Ballroom and the Small Exhibition Hall. Its curved, continuous windows frame a fantastic panoramic view of Hawke's Bay providing a tremendous atmosphere for any social occasion. The Gallery, with its fully serviced bar facility, can be used in conjunction with the Ballroom or the Small Exhibition Hall, or on its own for a cocktail function, dinner or luncheon.
The Large Exhibition Hall is the centre's most recent addition and was designed to host trade shows, the exhibition components of conferences, special events, meetings and dinners. The hall's stunning wood features create an aesthetically pleasant, versatile and multifunctional space.
The Small Exhibition Hall is a flexible space with views over the Pacific Ocean from a large corner window, and native wood panelling throughout. This space has two removable walls, which can be added to provide a stand-alone room or removed to provide an easy flow from the main foyer through to the Gallery, with even more views of the Bay. The Exhibition Hall is the ideal setting for luncheons, private dinners, intimate weddings, smaller conferences or exhibitions.
As Hawke's Bay's only purpose-built conference venue, the Napier War Memorial Centre boasts eight working spaces over two floors. Following a complete renovation and expansion in 2017, the centre can cater for large-scale conferences, trade shows, weddings, meetings and other types of function, event or celebration.
The Large Exhibition Hall can accommodate up to 25 exhibition sites and the iconic Ballroom has a dining capacity of 350 guests for conferences and weddings. The centre has air conditioning throughout, a full service commercial kitchen, modern audiovisual equipment, car parking, a complimentary ultrafast Wi-Fi network, and a 4.5 star Qualmark rating.
Venue rental is normally based on morning/afternoon and/or evening segments. This includes standard venue furniture and set-up, power (of normal venue operations) and experienced staff on-site to oversee event requirements.
