Persistence rewarded for events industry

After 15 months and four postponements, 270 delegates finally came together at the Napier War Memorial Centre to share knowledge and celebrate the industry at the New Zealand Events Association (NZEA) Conference.

Hosted by Napier Conferences & Events, the NZEA Conference ran for two days of workshops, plenary sessions and keynote speakers on 26-27 July.

Jacqui D’Ath and her team at Napier Conferences and Events worked closely with NZEA for over a year, planning and rescheduling through various COVID-19 disruptions.

“We were thrilled to welcome event industry members from around New Zealand to our wonderful city of Napier. It shows that persistence pays off. We were determined to support NZEA in making this conference a success,” Jacqui said.

The conference used all the spaces on offer across both levels of the venue, which boasts expansive views of the ocean.

“We’re right on the sea front and the vistas from the ballroom are stunning so delegates saw the ever-changing weather rolling in while listening to key note speakers including Nigel Latta or seeing virtual speakers on the big screens,” said Jacqui.

As part of the conference, the NZEA Event Awards were celebrated at a gala evening held at Toitoi - Hawke’s Bay Arts & Events Centre where the industry celebrated excellence, innovation and evolution in New Zealand’s world-class events industry. The next few months sees a busy time for the Napier Conferences and Events team, with a range of events to finish the year off, including the upcoming BEIA Conference being held 4-6 October.
